On November 16th, 2018, the 196th West Lake Symposium on Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology was held in the lecture hall in the library of Yuquan Campus. This seminar was organized by Researcher Zhang Yi and Researcher Wu Dan from CBEIS, Zhejiang University.
All seats were occupied since more than 150 people attended the seminar, including students and teachers from Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Fudan University, Sichuan University and Hangzhou Normal University, doctors from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Affiliated Children's Hospital, Sichuan Huaxi Hospital, etc., and R&D Engineers from Siemens and Neusoft Medical.
First, Prof. Zhong Jianhui from Center for Brain Imaging Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, gave an opening speech and expressed warm welcome to everyone who participated in the seminar. The work and achievements of the brain imaging technology of Zhejiang University in recent years were introduced in detail.
On the morning of the 16th, Researcher Zhang Yi hosted the meeting. Gold Award winners of the International Association of Medical Magnetic Resonance: Prof. Peter van Zijl, Prof. Jeff Bulte, Prof. Susumu Mori from Johns Hopkins University, and Member of the International Medical Magnetic Resonance Association, Prof. Linda Knutsson from Lund University of Sweden gave wonderful reports on CEST imaging, molecular probes, medical image big data processing, and perfusion imaging.
On the afternoon of the 16th, Researcher Wu Dan hosted the meeting. Prof. Jinyuan Zhou of Johns Hopkins University, Researcher Zhou Xin of Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Prof. Guo Hua of Tsinghua University, Senior Engineer Zuo Zhentao from Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Liang Dong from Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Zang Yufeng of Hangzhou Normal University, introduced the latest research results such as magnetic resonance APT imaging, hyperpolarization imaging, diffusion imaging sequence, coil design, rapid imaging technology and functional imaging.
In the communication session, Zhong Jianhui, Ding Nai, He Hongjian, Kong Xueqian, Zhang Xiaotong, Bai Ruiliang and some students from Zhejiang University raised a lot of questions on the lecture. All the professors answered them patiently and highly praised those questions. Finally, the lecture ended in warm applause.
